COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course aims to advance the knowledge and skills of healthcare practitioners so that they may provide evidence-based medicine to manage the special needs of the geriatric population, as well as develop a more satisfying practitioner-patient relationship.
COURSE OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Perform a comprehensive geriatric assessment based on current and updated knowledge and skills in the discipline;
- Understand psychosocial aspects in the continuum of geriatric care spanning domiciliary to institutional settings;
- Apply an inter-disciplinary approach in the preventive, curative and rehabilitative geriatric health services.
