COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides the basic skills necessary for employment in a Dental Office. In includes the preparation of the dental treatment area for patient care before patients are seen and for the next day.


COURSE OUTCOMES:
At the end of this course the students should be able to

  1. Pronounce, define and spell the key terms used in dental office.
  2. Describe the six areas of the dental environment in a professional office
  3. Identify dental records such as treatment charts, financial forms, x-rays and case histories
  1. Identify dental forms such as insurance, pegboard prescription and recall
  2. Identify and discuss the types of appointments needed for different types of dental procedures
  3. Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette for scheduling an appointment, verifying an appointment and canceling an appointment
  4. List the clinical equipment most commonly found in the dental treatment area
  5. Discuss the basic function of the dental unit

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE COURSE:
This continuing education course is design for the individual who lacks a formal background in life sciences but who has or plans a career in the dental healthcare field.

Continuing Education Credits
