Dear Students,

Welcome to College of Allied Health Sciences (CoAHS), GMU!

Gulf Medical University is emerging as the leading center in the Middle East for educating professionals in a broad array of healthcare fields. College of Allied Health Sciences works under the broad umbrella of GMU and is dedicated to offer programs that generate the members of health care team of tomorrow – who are knowledgeable, competent and ethical clinicians – sensitive to the cultural and social service needs of the society. We hope to accomplish this goal by providing a dynamic and challenging curriculum, focusing on our students and blending the best of both traditional and modern pedagogical methods: large group lectures, small group discussions, case-based learning and computerized instruction.

Since the year 2000, we have been successfully conducting the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program, moulding students into professionally proficient and technically skilled physical therapists.

In 2014 we have launched the Bachelor of Health Sciences program (BHS) with 4 different majors in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Imaging Sciences, Nursing Sciences and Anesthesia & Surgical Technology. These programs will increase the freedom of choice for each student with a promising future and help create new approaches to health and wellness, clinical diagnostics and effective treatment.

All the programs offered in the college are aligned to the UAE National Qualification Framework at the appropriate levels. We give top priority for one-to-one clinical teaching at our clinical education facilities. To enhance the clinical skills along with class room teaching students will be trained in the skills laboratories and will be posted at various centers throughout the duration of study. Various instructional strategies and technologies will be used to teach students about career opportunities and their associated roles and new professional responsibilities.

I take this opportunity to advice you all that professions related to health care are blooming with a wide scope of practice and immense growth potential.

We at the College of Allied Health Sciences would like to thank our Founder President, Mr. Thumbay Moideen, the Provost, Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, and all the senior administrators of the university, for their perpetual support and constant encouragement to impart quality education and train future professionals.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new batch of BPT and BHS students to our college and hope you will embrace all the richness of our diverse community.

Best of luck in all your endeavors here at College of Allied Health Sciences, GMU!
